Simultaneous Raids in Buenos Aires Target Illegal Activities

In Buenos Aires, five simultaneous raids led to the confiscation of stolen cellphones and a significant amount of irregularly sold food and beverages. The operations aimed to combat street vending activities and resulted in the closure of four local establishments and the arrest of 16 individuals involved.


Simultaneous Raids in Buenos Aires Target Illegal Activities

Five simultaneous raids, four in the Once area and one in Flores, were successfully carried out, resulting in the seizure of mobile phones reported as stolen and a large amount of beverages and food being sold illegally. The action was executed by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Complex Investigations, led by Celsa Ramírez, as part of a broad operation that included 51 prior raids in Flores to combat the activities of street vendors.

During this new operation, 398 coffee thermoses, 2,798 frozen juices, 41 carts, 35 kitchen utensils, among other objects, were seized. Additionally, as a result of the operation, four locations in Balvanera were identified and closed. In this case, a total of 16 people were charged, 10 men and 6 women, mostly of Peruvian nationality, along with Argentines and one Colombian.

At one of the targeted points, an apartment on Corrientes Avenue at 2500, which had already been previously closed, a clandestine laboratory dedicated to dismantling and unlocking mobile phones was found, where 32 phones were discovered, two of which were registered as stolen according to ENACOM, as well as 51 device parts. The operation was led by the Special Investigations Division of the City Police, with the collaboration of various entities such as the Judicial Investigations Corps, the Government Control Agency, units from the Rapid Interventions Deployment, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the General Directorate of Labor Protection.
